Electric Shocks in Law Enforcement: A Recipe for Disaster? The Department of Homeland Security has allocated up to $20m to purchase thousands of gloves capable of delivering painful electric shocks.
The device, called Glove (Generated Low Output Voltage Emitter), is the brainchild of Compliant Technologies LLC, a Kentucky based manufacturer that claims its product can subdue individuals within seconds without leaving any physical marks.
The idea behind Glove may seem innocuous – a humane tool for law enforcement to de escalate tense situations.
